Teen Suffered Broken Leg and Head Injury in Brutal High School Beating: Lawsuit

The teen is suing the school district over the alleged beating.

A high school student was beaten so severely by a bully that he suffered a head injury, fractured fibula and torn ligaments, according to a lawsuit filed in Will County court.

Jayvon Russell, 16, and his mother, Latoya Russell, are suing the Crete-Monee School District over the alleged October 2014 attack.

Prior to the attack, Jayvon had complained to the dean of Crete-Monee High School about a “certain student … harassing him at school,” according to the lawsuit.

Jayvon was later attacked in a high school hallway, the lawsuit said.
