Teens Dealing Heroin Out Of Motel Room Nabbed After Cop Spots Needle On Dresser: Police
The DEA and Braidwood cops went to the motel after getting a tip about the heroin dealing, police said.

A teenage couple forgot to put away all their needles when the cops showed up at their motel room to ask if they had been selling heroin, police said.
The Braidwood police and the Drug Enforcement administration teamed to take down the two teens — 18-year-old Anthony Alvarez of Essex and Tabatha Powell, 19, of Dwight.
An anonymous tip reportedly led federal agents and Braidwood police officers to the motel room where Alvarez and Powell were staying. While agents and officers were speaking with the couple, one of them noticed a needle sitting atop dresser, police said.

In the ensuing search, the law allegedly turned up 262 bags of heroin worth about $2,500.
“Each bag represents a possible overdose, or AIDS, or hepatitis, or some other infectious disease that can be transmitted,” said Braidwood Police Chief Nick Ficarello.

The arrests of Alvarez and Powell came just a week after the Braidwood police raided a house and took three people into custody on drug charges. Jonathon Kincade, 26, Danita Morgan, 39, and Zachary Connor, 27, all were arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police reportedly seized heroin, numerous needles, bags containing heroin residue and vials of an unknown substance that was sent to a crime lab for testing.
Morgan and Connor are supposed to get married next month but he is still stuck in jail.
Earlier this week, DEA agents and police from neighboring Wilmington raided a house and arrested two men the law identified as “possibly the largest suppliers of heroin to the immediate area.”
Larry Mikesh, 52, and Jason Gregory, 40, were jailed after officers allegedly recovered 15.9 grams of heroin in 52 individually packaged hits, 5.8 grams of marijuana, and scales and drug packaging material.
