Thanksgiving Week: Waste Pick-Up Schedule And City Closings

Due to the Thanksgiving holiday this week, the city of Joliet is rescheduling garbage, recycling and yard waste pick-up.

Due to the Thanksgiving holiday this week, the city of Joliet is rescheduling garbage, recycling and yard waste pick-up.

Regularly scheduled Thursday pick-ups will be moved to Friday, November 23, and Friday pick-ups will be moved to Saturday, November 24.

Additionally, City Hall will be closed on Thursday and Friday in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, and parking decks will be free of charge on both days. Although there will be no enforcement of parking meters on those days, residents should look out for restricted parking posted on Friday, November 24 due to the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and Light Up the Holidays Parade. Those events will take place during the afternoon and evening.
