One of Joliet's 'Love Brothers' Arrested Again By Joliet Police: Here's Why
During a search of Thomas Love, Joliet police officers say they recovered suspected crack cocaine.

JOLIET, IL — Now 38 years old, Joliet citizen Thomas Love was arrested by the Joliet police on four criminal charges during the overnight hours Thursday. Love and his brother Kenneth have been the subject of numerous Joliet Patch crime articles in recent years, but Thursday's overnight arrest only involved Thomas, the police department told Patch.
According to police spokesman Sgt. Dwayne English, Thomas Love's latest arrest did not result in a Will County Jail booking. Instead, he was given his notice to appear in the Will County Courthouse. His newest charges are criminal trespass to state supported property, possession of a controlled substance, obstructing a peace officer and resisting a peace officer.
Joliet police said at around 1:05 a.m., officers responded to Riverwalk Homes Apartments at 358 N. Broadway St. in response to a report that a man who had been previously banned on the property. When the officers arrived, they learned the man was identified as Love. Officers located Love in the building, and he refused their orders and proceeded to run from them, English said.

Officers caught up to Love and placed him into custody.
While Love was escorted to the squad car, police say he began to resist the officers by dropping all of his weight to the ground and refusing to be moved. Officers were eventually able to escort him to the vehicle. During a search of Love, Officers recovered suspected crack cocaine, according to the arrest reports.

Although his latest arrest did not result in Will County Jail incarceration, Joliet Police have booked Thomas Love into the Will County Jail five different times since the spring of 2024.
Love was incarcerated June 11-13, June 1-2, May 17-19, Oct. 5-22, 2024 and April 5-22, 2024, his jail logs indicate.
