JOLIET, IL — They say that violence can happen at any time, anywhere. This week, the Will County State's Attorney's Office filed criminal charges of aggravated battery and mob action in connection with an attack upon someone patronizing the Thornton's gas station at 2798 West Jefferson Street in Joliet this summer.

Now, two months later, the two felony charges are being filed against Lazario Gregory as a result of the Joliet Police Department investigation.

According to the criminal complaint, Gregory is accused of striking his victim in the face at the Thornton's gas station on June 21 and the mob action charge indicates that Gregory engaged in the use of force or violence disturbing the peace "by two or more persons acting together and without authority of law," in that he struck the victim about the face.
