Timber! City's Cutting Down Some Trees This Weekend
The city plans to cut down trees Saturday and Sunday as part of its struggle with the emerald ash borer.

JOLIET, IL — The city’s roadways division will be cutting down trees in 11 subdivisions over the weekend.
The trees will be felled in an effort to combat the scourge of the emerald ash borer.
The tree-cutting will begin at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and end at 3:30 p.m. Crews will return at a later date to grind down tree stumps.

"Please remove vehicles from the street during these days and times and remember to proceed with caution while workers are present," the city said in a statement.
The tree removal will be conducted over the weekend in these subdivisions:
