Tinted Windows Leads to Joliet Cocaine Dealer's Arrest: JPD

Upon search of the vehicle, Joliet police say they recovered suspected cocaine that appeared to be packaged for sale.

JOLIET, IL — A 31-year-old suspected Joliet drug dealer, Kendall Williamson, was arrested last week by Joliet police last week after officers noticed Williamson in downtown Joliet with illegally tinted windows on his vehicle, arrest reports show.

The Joliet police later released Williamson on a notice to appear in court for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, and also for driving while license suspended.

According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, the events leading to Williamson's arrest last week in downtown Joliet happened this way:

On March 13, 2024, at 2:25 a.m., Joliet police stopped a Buick Lucerne near Scott Street and Clinton Street for an equipment violation and tinted windows. While speaking to Williamson, the officers saw he had an open container of alcohol in his Buick.

Upon search of the vehicle, Joliet police recovered suspected cocaine that appeared to be packaged for sale. Williamson was placed into custody without incident.

Officers determined that Williamson held a suspended driver’s license. Williamson was also cited for tinted windows, improper lighting – taillight and illegal transportation of alcohol by driver.
