Too Early to Buy Beer, So 2 Guys Just Take It

JOLIET, IL — Two men were denied when they asked to purchase a case of beer because it was too early in the morning, so they just stole it instead.

The two men went to the BP station on Laraway Road at Route 52 about 8 a.m. on March 26 and “asked the clerk if they could purchase beer this early,” police said.

The clerk told the men that it was too early and that they could not buy beer yet, so “they proceeded to the beer cooler, removed a case of Bud Light, and left the store without paying for it,” police said.

The men climbed into a tan Ford pickup and made their getaway, police said, heading toward Manhattan.

Investigators were to review store surveillance video, police said.
