JOLIET, IL — Students in Troy Community School District 30-C’s English Language Learners program recently attended a special after school event, Multicultural Night, with their families. The event was held at William B. Orenic Intermediate School and, according to Troy Hofer Elementary School Assistant Principal Sherri Blanchette, was designed to share with the students world cultures that represent the district’s cultural diversity. Included in the activities were making Native American dream catchers, Mexican tin art, Kenyan kufi kofia hats, Japanese origami, Chinese drums and dragons and Asian paper dolls.
