A worker at the Patterson Road facility said the trucker appeared ill before he crashed into the fence, according to police.

JOLIET, IL — A trucker died of an apparent heart attack after crashing into a fence at a Patterson Road facility, police said.
The 49-year-old Marseilles man had just dropped a load of Soybeans off at the Gavilon facility on Patterson Road about 4 p.m. Thursday and was on his way out again, police said.
A witness reportedly told officers the man appeared to be out of breath as he left and got in his truck.
Soon after, the man crashed into a fence. A worker performed CPR on the man until paramedics arrived and transported him to Presence St. Joseph Medical Center, where he died.
The death was ruled to have been from natural causes.
