Truth Restaurant Sale Falls Through, Price Drops Again

JOLIET, IL — Several weeks ago, the real estate broker for the vacant Truth Restaurant in Joliet announced on his business website that the property at the corner of Raynor Avenue and Jefferson Street was under contract.

Turns out, the pending sale fell through, and the sellers are trying to market the property again.

Representatives of Eatz & Associates have re-listed the Truth property on their website, and they have dropped the price, again. The two retail properties at 800-808 West Jefferson St. are now available for $429,000.

"The restaurant is located in a one-of-a-kind historical building," according to the new listing on LoopNet. "Cozy yet elegant décor. Intimate and casual ambience. Beautiful stone wall. Large windows overlooking the street. Ample parking for 30 cars."

Truth restaurant closed for good in May 2020 after being in operation for 17 years.

When the property went on the real estate market in the summer of 2020, the sellers were trying to get $499,000. By November, the property dropped in price to $449,000.

Now, the property is available for $70,000 less than the original asking price.
