Joshua Samayoa, 29, had to be escorted by Joliet police officers to a squad car after the incident in the 1400 block of Glenwood Avenue.

JOLIET, IL — A 29-year-old man was arrested by Joliet police at his longtime address in the 1400 block of Glenwood Avenue and authorities say he became violent, kicking one officer in the leg and later biting another officer at St. Joe's hospital.
Police spokesman Dwayne English said Joshua Samayoa is being charged with three counts of aggravated battery to a peace officer, aggravated assault, resisting a peace officer and obstructing justice. The incident happened Saturday night.
According to English, at 11:31 p.m., officers responded to a house in the 1400 block of Glenwood Avenue for a disturbance. The officers encountered a man exiting the house, and he requested to be placed in handcuffs. The male, later identified as Samayoa, ignored multiple commands to sit down and provide information when officers asked questions to learn more about the disturbance, English said.

Officers tried to further investigate the disturbance inside the residence; however, a female refused to open the door or speak with the officers. While in custody, English said Samayoa tried to spit on an officer; he was brought to the Joliet Police Department, where he continued to be uncooperative with booking procedures.
Samayoa later complained of injuries and was taken by Joliet Fire Department ambulance to St. Joseph Medical Center. While at the hospital, Samayoa bit an officer, English said.
He was released from the hospital the following morning and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility. He remained in the jail as of Tuesday morning.
