Vice Lord Wanted For Knife Attack Captured: Cops

A Crest Hill Vice Lord wanted for allegedly stabbing a minor last month was apprehended and locked up Saturday night.

Jason Yantz, 22, was wanted on charges of aggravated battery in connection with the alleged March 8 knife attack.

The warrant for Yantz’s arrest identified him as a Vice Lord gang member.

Yantz and a woman claiming to be his fiancee were apparently unaware and unconvinced that he was wanted on the felony charges.

“Last night, we went to JPD to find out what was going on, and per JPD and (W)ill (C)ounty there is no warrant,” the woman, Lauren Goode, said in a Saturday morning Facebook message to Patch.

Goode said “we will be getting an attorney for this matter and you can deal with them.”

Yantz’s bond had previously been set at $30,000. He was scheduled to appear in court Monday morning.
