JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department responded to a domestic this week and arrested 48-year-old citizen Daniel Vrabel on three counts of domestic battery.

At approximately 11:30 p.m. on Monday, Joliet police officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Gladys Avenue for a disturbance in progress. Upon arrival, the officers located the suspect, later identified as Vrabel, sitting on a couch. He appeared drowsy and disoriented, according to Joliet police spokesman Tizoc Landeros.

The victim, a 42-year-old Joliet woman, told officers that Vrabel had recently been permitted to move back into the house. During a late-night argument, Vrabel put his hands on the victim, the arrest report showed. The attack was witnessed by the victim’s two adult sons, ages 19 and 24, who intervened believing their mother was at risk of injury.
