Warning Shot Lands Lady in Jail: Cops

JOLIET, IL — A Mississippi woman fired a pistol into the air during a wild brawl on Hickory Street, police said.

Dominique Wilson, 26, was arrested and booked into the Will County jail on charges of reckless discharge of a firearm and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon in connection with the 8:45 a.m. Sunday incident on Hickory near Moran Street.

Officers were sent to Hickory to investigate a reports of a huge street fight, police said. On the way, a call came in of a woman shooting a gun in the air, climbing into a silver car and taking off.

Officers stopped the car and Wilson, a resident of Jackson, Mississippi, told them the pistol was under the passenger seat, police said.

Wilson reportedly explained to the cops that she fired the gun when unidentified people approached her car during the altercation on Hickory Street.
