Waste Management Updates Will County Trash Pick Up Times
Waste Management has updated its early start times for trash pick up in northeastern Illinois due to extreme heat.

WILL COUNTY, IL — Waste Management will pick up trash early on Thursday and Friday, the company's website says, because of the extreme heat in the forecast. As the heat index breaks 100 degrees, an earlier pick up time will relieve the collectors from the heat, at least a bit.
The pick up time will begin at 5 a.m. instead of 7 a.m. on July 18 and 19. The change applies to trash, recycling and yard waste containers. Officials initially set the early start time at 6 a.m., but changed it to 5 a.m. across the county.
The National Weather Service said the heat index, which is how hot it feels when humidity is taken into account, will climb up to 110 degrees for most of the area.
