Major Crash Closes West Jefferson Street In Joliet
Joliet police are urging people to seek alternative travel routes and avoid this area along West Jefferson Street.
JOLIET — The Joliet Police Department issued an alarming news bulletin to Facebook followers on Sunday night. As of 6:20 p.m., West Jefferson Street at Hammes Avenue has been shut down because of a major crash.
It was unclear how long it would be shut down.
"At this time, it is unknown how long the roadway will be closed," Joliet police said. "Please seek alternative travel routes and avoid the area."
