Will County Calls For Back-Up Election Judges

Back-up election judges are needed for polls in Will County, regardless of party affiliation.

JOLIET, IL — The Will County Clerk's Office is asking for additional county residents to serve as back-up election judges for tomorrow's election. Back-up judges are necessary to replace those judges who will be absent from their polling places due to coronavirus concerns. No prior experience is required and all are invited to sign up for the job, regardless of party affiliation. All back-up election judges will be compensated $150 dollars to stay at their polling location for the full day.

Those interested in acting as an election judge should go to the Will County Clerk's Office, 302 N. Chicago Street, Joliet, at 6 a.m. on March 17. New judges will be sworn in and assigned a polling location somewhere in the county after 6:15 a.m. Training for the new judges will be carried out at their polling sites by judges who have already received training.
