Wilmington Post Office Property Damaged: Criminal Defendant Can't Be Detained Under SAFE-T-Act

WILMINGTON, IL — A 19-year-old man who hails from the state of Arizona, Adriano Huskon, appeared at the Will County Courthouse on Wednesday to face three felony charges in connection with damage to government supported property at the Wilmington Post Office.

According to his criminal complaint, Huskon is accused of damaging the passenger side window of the post office vehicle on Sept. 27 and the damage he caused was more than $500 but less than $10,000.

His second charge of criminal damage to government supported property indicates Huskon damaged the windshield of the postal service vehicle, damage that cost more than $500 but less than $10,000. His third charge accuses Huskon of damaging another window of the post office vehicle, and that damage was less than $500.

The Wilmington Police Department investigated the case, and Huskon was informed on Wednesday that his three criminal charges are not detainable offenses under the SAFE-T-Act.

However, Huskon must have no further contact with the Wilmington Post Office at 301 N. Water St., according to court files. His next hearing is Oct. 30 in Courtroom 405.
