Woman Choked, Dragged Down The Stairs On Canterbury Court: JPD

Naperville's 39-year-old Brandon Vogel fled the residence prior to arrival of the Joliet police officers, authorities said.

JOLIET — The Joliet Police Department received help from the Naperville police force in locating a 39-year-old Naperville man who is accused of choking and dragging a Joliet woman down a flight of stairs over the weekend in the Twin Oaks area of the city's west side.

Now, Brandon Vogel is being held in the Will County Adult Detention Facility on charges of aggravated domestic battery.

Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said the following events led to this past weekend's incarceration of the Naperville resident:

At 2:11 a.m. Saturday, Joliet police responded to the 1600 block of Canterbury Court for a domestic disturbance. It is alleged that Vogel became upset at a woman while in the bedroom of the home. Vogel punched the victim in the head and choked her. Vogel then dragged the victim down the stairs and again punched and choked her.

The victim managed to escape her attacker and she ran out of the residence and sought help.

Vogel fled the residence prior to the arrival of Jolie police.

Shortly after 4 p.m. on Saturday that same day, the Joliet Police Department was notified that Naperville Police contacted Vogel in the 14000 block of Michigan Avenue in Plainfield.

Joliet police responded to this address and placed Vogel into custody, and he remained in the county jail as of Monday.
