Another woman threw the rock at her, police said.

A woman was hit in the face with a rock thrown by another woman while she was leaving the Briggs Street rodeo Sunday night, police said.
The 36-year-old woman from Hodgkins and others in her group had been in a verbal altercation with another faction of women at the rodeo earlier in the evening, police said. When the Hodgkins woman and her friends were leaving for the night, a fight broke out.
When deputies arrived, they found the woman sitting on the ground in the parking lot, bleeding from her swollen eye. She was also severely bruised, police said.

An unidentified woman had thrown the rock that hit the Hodgkins woman in the eye, police said. The rock-thrower reportedly split before the law arrived.
Just a week earlier, deputies were called to the rodeo to investigate reports of women trying to pick a fight, a man grabbing a woman’s breasts, a man stealing an American flag, and a drunken driver running over three people in the parking lot.
