JOLIET, IL — A 40-year-old woman was found shot to death inside a Joliet home Wednesday night in a slaying after a man broke a window and forced his way through the front door, according to officials. Police say they believe the killing was "domestic in nature."
The Will County Coroner’s Office has not yet announced the identity of the woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Police were called to the home in the 1100 block of Westshire Drive after receiving a 911 call from a woman just after 10:30 p.m. A police spokesman confirmed to Patch on Thursday that the call was placed by the victim.
The caller said a man was forcefully attempting to enter the home.
