Woman Suing Park District Says She Fell Off Golf Cart at Channahon Festival

She was getting off the golf cart when it suddenly moved forward, the lawsuit said.

CHANNAHON, IL — A woman suing the Channahon Park District claims to have fallen off a golf cart during the 2015 Three Rivers Festival.

Sharon Swiderski was getting off a golf cart when it “suddenly and without warning” pulled forward “with great speed and force, causing” her to tumble to the ground, according to the lawsuit, which was filed in Will County court.

The lawsuit does not identify the driver of the golf cart.

Swiderski suffered both internal and external injuries, the lawsuit said.

Swiderski’s husband, William Swiderski, is also suing. William Swiderski has “suffered loss of services of his spouse,” the suit said, and “has also been deprived of his spouse’s affection, companionship, and consortium.”
