5 Crimes In 3 Weeks In La Grange: Police Reports
Theft, porch piracy and a scam were among the reported crimes, according to the latest blotter.

LA GRANGE, IL – La Grange, with a population of nearly 16,000, reported five crimes in three weeks, from Feb. 6 to Feb. 28. This is according to its police blotter released Friday. Here is information from the latest police reports:
Theft
- A person stole $227 worth of merchandise about 8:30 p.m. Feb. 17 at Walgreens, 2 N. La Grange Road.

- A package valued at $55 was stolen from a lobby in the 10 block of South Madison Avenue. The theft was reported Feb. 23.
Scam
- A computer scam cost a resident about $4,000 in the 10 block of South Ashland Avenue. The fraud was reported Feb. 6.
Identity theft

- A resident in the 1000 block of South Stone Avenue told police Feb. 13 that her identity was compromised and that a credit card was opened in her name. She suffered no financial loss.
No license
- A 38-year-old Chicago Ridge man was arrested about 4:30 p.m. Feb. 18 at 47th Street and Ashland Avenue on a charge of driving without a valid license.
