Active Souls to Host Open House, Change Of Heart Event

The Feb. 20 event will benefit the American Heart Association's Go Red For Women.

La Grange Park, IL - Active Souls, 355 N. La Grange Road in La Grange Park, is hosting an Open House and Change of Heart Wellness and Awareness Event on Feb. 20.

Active Souls is a premier health club for women focusing on fitness, nutrition and wellness. Change of Heart is a grass roots fitness program, presented by SELF, that works to educate women about heart disease and stroke in support of the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women® movement.

“Each year, one in three women die of heart disease and stroke, yet it’s 80 percent preventable, “says, Go Red For Women spokeswomen Dr. Suzanne Steinbaum, “Change of Heart connects us with passionate women who are united to take action, like scheduling a Well-Woman Visit for themselves, to protect their hearts and the hearts of their mothers, daughters, sisters and friends.”

Active Souls’ members are registered for the Change of Heart event and invite the public to take part. The day’s activities will include heart healthy exercise classes, heart rate monitor demonstrations, a plank challenge, blood pressure screenings, juice from Red Mango, active apparel by Lucy and Runner’s Soul, raffle prizes and more! There is a $20 suggested donation. All participants who register and donate $20 prior to the event receive a 1-year subscription to Self or Glamour Magazine, a Change of Heart water bottle, and a Go Red pin. Change of Heart will donate twenty-five percent of each participant registration fee to Go Red For Women for important heart health awareness, research and educational programs to benefit women.

“We are proud to open our remodeled facility to members and guests and host a Change of Heart event. The event is a fun way for us to gather the women of our community together for education on heart disease and stroke and motivate them to take charge of their health,” says Sally Head, Owner Active Souls.
