A Cappella Group to Perform in Western Springs

The Jan. 13 concert will honor William MacIntosh of Western Springs, a founding member of the "13."

Western Springs, IL - The Colgate “13”, the premier men’s a cappella singing group at Colgate University, will perform at The First Congregational Church of Western Springs on Jan. 13, 2016 at 7:30 p.m.

The concert will honor William MacIntosh of Western Springs, a founding member of the “13.”

Comprised of 13 undergraduate students from Colgate University in Hamilton, NY, the Colgate “13” has delighted audiences for over 70 years with fun, surprises, and the best a cappella sound anywhere. They combine their close harmonies and intricate rhythms with their vast repertoire of jazz and popular music.

Founded in 1942, the Colgate “13” performs all across the country and beyond, averaging 100 concerts and 13,000 miles per year. Most notably, the group has performed at the Super Bowl, The Hollywood Bowl, Radio City Music Hall, on television, and for presidents and royalty. The group has also released a total of 35 CD’s.

The First Congregational Church of Western Springs is located at 1106 Chestnut St., Western Springs, IL.

The performance is free, although donations are welcome.
