Citizens' Council of La Grange to Launch Village Survey

The survey will launch on March 1 and remain open through March 31.

Submitted by the Citizens’ Council of La Grange.

La Grange, IL - Citizens’ Council of La Grange (CCLG) will soon be launching Views on the Village, a survey among La Grange residents, in advance of its fall 2016 candidate slating process for the 2017 local elections.

The questions will give residents the opportunity to rate: the value they place on village features and services; quality of life; level of satisfaction with local government and issues facing the village that are most important to them.

If residents want to ensure that they receive the survey - they are encouraged to email the CCLG at lgcitizenscouncil@gmail.com so that they may be added to the distribution list.

The results of this first ever survey will inform CCLG members what aspects of village life and governing deserve the most attention, encourage greater participation in village affairs through the CCLG, as well as further educate candidates interested in running for office. Twelve village seats will be on the ballot of the next general election in 2017 for the Village of La Grange, Library Board and Park District Board.

The results will be analyzed and open for discussion at the May 11 council meeting and eventually posted online.

The CCLG was founded and exists as a non-partisan body of interested citizens who desire to encourage the best possible government for La Grange (Village Trustees, Library Trustees and Park Commissioners). For the past 75 years, a majority of candidates seeking elected village office have come before the CCLG seeking to be slated (endorsed) by our membership. The CCLG encourages the citizens of La Grange get involved and to have a say in the character of their village and the services they receive, and is currently welcoming new members. La Grange residents are encouraged to consider running or recommending a fellow resident to run for the village, park or library boards.

If you are interested in learning more, please join the monthly meetings every second Wednesday of the month from September through May, 7:30 p.m., at the Village Hall.
