Failed Burglary at Stonegrove Guitar; Paint Dumped on Car: Police Blotter

TUESDAY, FEB. 26

Illegal Driver I

Alyeksandr Bilegsaikhan, 26, of the 3400 block of West Foster Avenue, Chicago, was stopped at the corner of La Grange Road and Ogden Avenue at 5:11 p.m. and charged with driving with a suspended or revoked license, police said.

Illegal Driver II

Jonathan Salmeron, 21, of the 4200 block of Prescott Avenue, Lyons, was stopped at the corner of La Grange Road and Harris Avenue at 8:32 a.m. and charged with driving with a suspended or revoked license, police said. 

MONDAY, FEB. 25

Hypodermic Needles Found

Two hypodermic needles were turned into police at 5:36 p.m., reportedly found on the south side of the Ogden Avenue bridge. Police disposed of the needles.

Bullet Found in Yard 

A resident of the 100 block of East Avenue reported at 11:42 a.m. having found a live bullet, .38 Special, in front of his garage. The bullet was destroyed.

Illegal Driver III

Manuel Arellano-Ocampo, 45, of the 7500 block of Elmhurst Road, Des Planes, was stopped at the corner of La Grange Road and 48^th Street at 12:05 a.m. and charged with driving without a license, police said.

SUNDAY, FEB. 24

Car Windows Smashed

A resident reported that someone broke the windows of a car on the 900 block of 6^th Avenue between 12:00 a.m. and 12:30 a.m. Nothing was missing from the car. The value of the damage was not estimated.

SATURDAY, FEB. 23

Illegal Driver IV 

Nicole M. Lanningham, 28, of the 700 block of Webster Avenue, Bartlett, was stopped at the corner of La Grange and Plainfield roads at 8:31 p.m. and charged with driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Illegal Driver V

Enrique Perez-Plascencia, 54, of the 5900 block of West 16^th Street, Cicero, was stopped at the corner of La Grange Road and Cossitt Avenue at 11:28 a.m. and charged with driving without a license, police said.

Pot and Trespassing Violation

A 23-year-old Chicago man was issued local ordinance citations in Sedgwick Park at 1:17 a.m. for possession of cannabis (30 grams or less) and for being in the park after hours, police said. 

FRIDAY, FEB. 22

Giant Snowball in Roadway 

A complainant reported at 9:53 p.m. that about 15 kids had just rolled a 4-foot high snowball into the middle of the intersection of 10^th Avenue and 48^th Street before running away. Officers pushed the snowball to the side.

Illegal Driver VI

Michelle Jimenez, 34, of the 0-100 block of South La Grange Road, was stopped at the corner of La Grange Road and Cossitt Avenue at 7:55 a.m. and charged with driving without a license, police said.

THURSDAY, FEB. 21

Paint Dumped on Car

A complainant reported at 8:14 p.m. that a “group of teens dumped a paint can of paint on a black Kia” parked on the 0-100 block of South La Grange Road. Police left a safety security notice on the car.

Potential Attempted Burglary 

A resident of the 800 block of South La Grange Road reported at 5:53 that it appeared someone had attempted to break into her apartment through the sliding-glass door.

BB Hole in Business Window

A business owner on the 0-100 block of Stone Avenue reported a BB-sized hole in her front window at 4:16 p.m. The incident occurred between 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday and 10:30 a.m. on the 20^th. The damage was estimated at more than $500.

Failed Burglary at Stonegrove Guitar

A forcible-entry burglary attempt was made on Stonegrove Guitar on the 700 block of West Hillgrove Avenue at between 8:00 p.m. on the 20^th and 7:00 a.m. on the 21^st. No entry was gained to the store and nothing was missing. Police are investigating and have no further information at this time.

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 20

Car Burglary with Smashed Window

Someone burglarized a motor vehicle parked on the 0-100 block of North La Grange Road between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. by smashing the back windshield. A briefcase containing miscellaneous documents was stolen from the car. The combined damage and loss was less than $500. (Police issued a reminder to residents not to leave visible property in cars.)
