Field Being Named After Ex-La Grange Resident
The Nazareth Academy official's legacy is growth, a leader said. His career at the school spans more than 35 years.
LA GRANGE PARK, IL – Nazareth Academy in La Grange Park plans to rename Valenta Stadium's field after a former La Grange resident.
The honor goes to Dennis Moran, the high school's building and grounds director, who now lives in Westchester.
Before the kickoff at the Oct. 3 football game, the school plans a brief ceremony renaming Spirit Field to Dennis Moran Field.

In his more than 35 years at the school, Moran has served in a dozen roles, including teacher, coach, dean, president and athletic director.
“It’s impossible to conceive of Nazareth Academy as it stands today, without acknowledging the involvement and dedication of Dennis Moran," Nazareth's president, Deborah Tracy, said in a statement Tuesday.

Tracy said Moran's legacy is growth. He helped make the school bigger, creating additions and renovating the campus to modernize learning and activities, she said.
He is also credited with improvements in curriculum and technology.
Nazareth's enrollment was nearly 800 last year.
