'Generous' La Grange Dad Always Willing To Help, Son Says

LA GRANGE, IL— Father's Day is the perfect time to give a big thanks to all the dads who put smiles on our faces. La Grange, meet Bill Greenenwald.

If you know a dad who sends sweet, silly or thoughtful texts your way, you’re pretty lucky. Texts from Dad have a way of putting a smile on our faces — and this Father’s Day, we’re celebrating the fathers behind the phones!

Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to shine a light on awesome dads and the funny, insightful things they say. This submission comes from Brian Greenenwald who nominated Bill Greenenwald of La Grange.

What makes your dad extra special?

He is extremely generous with his time and is always willing to help anyone that needs him. I could call him at 11 p.m. because something broke into my house and he would be on his way to help. He is a great dad and a great “Papa.”

Why do you feel your dad deserves the spotlight?

Every night when I go to work as a police officer, I get the same text in the middle of the night: “Be smart. Be safe. Love you. Dad.” I don’t know if he’s missed sending that text on a single shift of mine over the last 13 years.
