La Grange-Area Bar Sued Over Fatal DUI Crash
A DUI suspect was overserved at the bar before crashing and killing a woman, according to the lawsuit.

LA GRANGE, IL – A Countryside bar was sued Monday in the death of a woman killed by a suspected drunken driver.
The lawsuit was filed by the woman's family against Rafferty's Irish Pub, which is at Brainard Avenue and Joliet Road in Countryside.
The 44-year-old woman, Tanya Navarro, had two daughters, Alyza Lopez and Aliyah Phillips. She was killed Dec. 13, 2024, by a driver who was more than twice the legal limit when he left the bar, the family's lawyers said.

Navarro was in her broken-down car in the 7200 block of La Grange Road in suburban Hodgkins when the suspect, Finn Curran of Hodgkins, struck the vehicle after leaving Rafferty's, the lawsuit said.
Curran admitted that the bar provided him with an alcohol drink to go, the attorneys said. Navarro's dog was killed in the crash.

Navarro's family is being represented by Chicago-based Clifford Law Offices.
Her daughters released a statement to the media about their mother.
"To everyone who knew her, she wasn't just our mom, she was the kind of person who could find laughter and light, even in the hardest moments," they said. "This will be our first Thanksgiving without her."
Curran has also been named a defendant. He was charged with felony DUI, according to ABC 7.
