LA GRANGE, IL — No, your eyes haven’t been playing tricks on you: you really have seen a skeleton Bob Ross in La Grange.

For the sixth year, skeletons dressed up as anyone from Fred Astaire to Princess Diana have been popping around town as part of Skeletober. Over 40 skeletons are on display throughout the downtown business district from Oct. 1 to Oct. 31.

La Grangers are encouraged to download a walking map, find the skeletons, take a photo, and then post it on Facebook by tagging the La Grange Business Association and using the hashtag #skeletober to be entered in random prize drawings. Through the end of the month, visitors can take part in a scavenger hunt to also be entered into a prize drawing. Instructions can be found at skeletober.com.

On Saturday, the skeletons will get some creepy company: costumed dancers from the Dance Center of La Grange will perform the iconic “Thriller” dance from 1 to 1:30 outside La Grange Village Hall.

Skeletober is sponsored by Boyce Chiropractic, and dozens of other local businesses and organizations. For a full list of sponsors and even more Halloween events and promotions, visit the La Grange Business Association’s website.
