La Grange Exceeds Hinsdale In Home Value Hikes: Report
Hinsdale sees the lowest growth in home prices among the 30 towns with the costliest houses, according to a Stacker report.

LA GRANGE, IL – Hinsdale's typical home value is far higher than that of La Grange.
But it turns out that La Grange has something it can boast about – the rate of growth in home values.
Over the last five years, the growth in Hinsdale housing prices was abnormally low, according to Stacker, a data-focused media organization.

Stacker looked at the 30 Illinois towns with the most expensive houses. The data is from May.
The five-year growth in home values in the towns other than Hinsdale ranged from 9 percent to 27.3 percent. All are a lot higher than Hinsdale's 4.5 percent, Stacker reported.

Nearby towns more than doubled Hinsdale's rate of growth – Burr Ridge at 12.1 percent, Western Springs and Clarendon Hills at 14.8 percent, and La Grange at 17.9 percent, according to Stacker.
Wayne, a town in Kane County, saw the most growth at 27.3 percent.
In Hinsdale, the typical home value is $1,007,000, Stacker reported. The only towns that finished higher are Kenilworth ($1,568,000), Winnetka ($1,442,000) and Glencoe ($1,345,263).
According to Stacker, Burr Ridge's typical home value ranked 16th ($726,000), with Western Springs 21st ($671,825), La Grange 29th ($572,000) and Clarendon Hills 30th ($558,000).
