La Grange Hosts 24th Annual Hometown Holiday

The celebration will take place Dec. 5.

The 24th Annual Hometown Holiday will take place Dec. 5, when Santa will arrive by firetruck to help light the Christmas tree at Village Hall.

The event includes free activities, entertainment and open houses at local shops and restaurants that will have extended hours, according to the Village of La Grange.

A trolley around the village will pass free parking areas, and free valet parking will be available.

The La Grange Theatre will host a free holiday matinee of “Elf” at 3 p.m., and the All Village Sing with Lyons Township High School will begin at 4:45 p.m.

A petting zoo, pony rides, kiddie train and trolly rides will be available at 5 p.m.

Santa will arrive at Village Hall aboard a fire truck at 5:30 p.m., and children can visit with the jolly old man from 6 to 8 p.m.

The La Grange Business Association and the Village of La Grange encourage residents to shop local and keep dollars at small retailers.
