La Grange Official Leaving For 'Other Endeavors'
The official is a La Grange resident who has been with the village government for more than three years.

LA GRANGE, IL – Rick Colby, La Grange's public works director, is leaving after more than three years on the job.
Colby is stepping away from his position "to spend time with his young family as well as to pursue other endeavors," Village President Mark Kuchler announced at Monday's Village Board meeting.
Colby started with the village in September 2021, replacing Ryan Gillingham, who was director for a dozen years.

Colby told the board that leaving was not an easy decision.
"I have a young, growing family and am excited about the next chapter," he said. "It's very sad to say goodbye to this one. I'm still a resident and pretty close by. It's been an absolute honor to serve in this capacity."
