La Grange Park Weblos Write of Meeting DEA Agent

In an article for "The Doings," written as a part of their project, the fourth- and fifth-grade Cub Scouts discussed meeting with agent Owen Putman.

Drug Enforcement Agency agent Owen Putnam spoke to Weblos Cub Scouts of La Grange Park back in September, in an experience chronicled by four of the Scouts for The Doings La Grange as part of the completion of their project and in order to earn a DEA badge.

"Drugs are a big problem in our country, and starting to be available to younger kids close to our age," scouts Aidan Barrett, Vinny D'Addio, John Hepp and Daniel Weiler wrote in the article.

"We learned to talk to someone we trust, like our parents or the police, if we are offered drugs. You must say “NO” strongly, not “Maybe tomorrow,” or “I don’t think I should,” because then they may ask you again."
