The evening will begin with Mass at 5 p.m. followed by a ceremony recognizing the seven new inductees into McAuley Hall – the school’s Hall of Honor. Established in 2013, McAuley Hall is a permanent installation at the school, serving to educate and inspire current and future students, and all who visit the school. Inductees into the Hall were chosen from more than 100 nominations.

This year’s inductees include award-winning and inspiring alumnae, faculty members and a Sister of Mercy.

“The Mass and Induction Ceremony is the perfect beginning for the reunion festivities,” says Hannah Kohut, alumnae coordinator. “We will gather in prayer and celebration to honor our history and heritage, and embrace our McAuley Hall inductees as individuals who exemplify the mission of Catherine McAuley. Each of these women, in her own way, infuses Catherine’s vision of Mercy into their work and their communities,” Kohut continues.

Roberta “Robbie” Kuchler O’Shea ’81 continually personifies the spirit of Catherine McAuley, taking action wherever she sees a need. As a licensed physical therapist and a professor at Governors State University, she brings her compassion and care to assist children ages 0-3 who have developmental difficulties, particularly underprivileged and at-risk infants and their families. Outside of her profession, Robbie has worked with Chicago Area Families for Adoption and sits on the board at the Center for Independence, a non-profit committed to improving the lives of children with disabilities.

Other McAuley Hall inductees include Sister Rosemary Connelly, RSM, Barbara McCann Bansley ’50, Nancy Jean Coleman Mulcahy ’64, Anne Bigane Wilson ’76, Theresa “Teri” Beran Kulat ’80 and Kathy Gordon Davis.

Following the induction ceremony, the Banner-Year Reunion will kick-off in the dining hall, student lounge and gyms. Alumnae classes which graduated in a year ending with a ‘0 or ‘5 are recognized as a “banner year class,” celebrating a 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th+ reunion. These women will have the opportunity to reunite with their classmates in designated areas. Members of these banner years are encouraged to become involved with planning.

Open to all alumnae who wish to attend, the reunion will feature food, drink and a variety of entertainment throughout the evening. Tours of the school will be offered and McAuley spirit wear and other merchandise will be available for purchase.

Tickets are now on sale for the Reunion and may be purchased through the McAuley website. Tickets cost $40. Early-bird ticket sales close on October 10, 2015. After that date the price will increase by $5. For more information, contact Hannah Kohut, Alumnae Coordinator, at (773) 881-6565 or alumnae@mothermcauley.org.
