Lyons Township High Official Retiring

The official is leaving after more than three decades.

LA GRANGE, LA – A top Lyons Township High School official is retiring after more than three decades at the school.

Scott Eggerding, the school's director of curriculum and instruction, plans to retire after the end of the school year.

He started as an English teacher at the school in the early 1990s and was promoted to his current position in 2006.

Last year, Eggerding was the second-highest paid employee at the school, making $214,053. He was only surpassed by Superintendent Brian Waterman, at $254,617.

The school had no dual-credit courses before Eggerding took his administrative position, but it now has 30 such courses, according to a story in this week's Lion Online student publication.

"I think that LT is a really amazing place, and we offer more courses than any school I’ve ever seen or come across," Eggerding told the publication. "I hope we continue that and that we value the opportunities that we provide kids."
