Lyons Township High Teacher Dies
The teacher handled classes in two departments during his two-decade career at the school.

LA GRANGE, IL – A longtime Lyons Township High School teacher died unexpectedly Monday, officials said.
Ray Burtner, who taught in the special education and science departments, started in 2005, according to the school.
"Ray was a wonderful friend and inspiring teacher to so many, and he will be missed by the entire LT community," the school board's president, Tim Albores, said at the board's meeting Monday.

Superintendent Brian Waterman said Burtner served as a class sponsor during his time at the school.
"He was a dedicated educator and more importantly, a colleague and friend to so many," he said.
