Man Batters La Grange Police Officer: Cops

In another case, people were assaulted by suspects on the way to a downtown La Grange restaurant.

Nicholas J. Bacino, 43, of Worth, was arrested about 10 p.m. Saturday near Palmer Place restaurant, 56 S. La Grange Road, on charges of aggravated battery on a police officer, aggravated assault, and resisting or obstructing an officer.

LA GRANGE, IL – In recent days, La Grange police have handled cases involving aggravated battery, suspects starting a fight, damage, retail theft and car burglary. Here is information from the latest La Grange police reports:

Aggravated battery

  • Nicholas J. Bacino, 43, of Worth, was arrested about 10 p.m. Saturday near Palmer Place restaurant, 56 S. La Grange, on charges of aggravated battery on a police officer, aggravated assault, and resisting or obstructing an officer. Patch has filed a public records request for the police report.

Starting a fight

  • Two suspects tried to instigate a fight about 9 p.m. Thursday in the parking garage at 80 Sixth Ave. The victims were walking to a restaurant.

Damage

  • A La Grange hospital employee told police March 18 that her parked car was scratched three different times at her workplace. The investigation continues.

Retail theft

  • Two people stole $126 worth of items about 1:30 a.m. March 27 at 7-Eleven, 6 E. 47th St.
  • A man and a woman stole merchandise from Walgreens, 2 N. La Grange Road. The theft was reported Monday.

Car burglary

  • A car was burglarized in the 800 block of South 11th Street. Nothing was stolen. The crime was reported Tuesday.

Bike theft

  • Two unlocked bicycles, each worth more than $700, were stolen about 7 p.m. Tuesday outside Starbucks, 38 S. La Grange Road. The investigation continues.
