Nazareth Academy Football Wins Back-to-Back State Championships

Nazareth Academy congratulates the 2015 Varsity Football Team — players, coaches, fans and parents for their second consecutive IHSA State Title.

The Roadrunners’ quest to repeat culminated in a 42-21 victory over Lincoln Way West in the 2015 IHSA 5A Football Championship Game at Huskie Stadium in DeKalb on Saturday, Nov. 28.

Nazareth’s excellence on the football field is one part of the school’s commitment to educate the whole person.

In welcoming our State Champions back to Nazareth on Saturday afternoon, Nazareth’s principal Deborah Tracy said, “These are exciting times at Nazareth Academy! We celebrate this moment even while acknowledging that a trophy cannot sustain us. More important than any one victory, Nazareth strives to develop more respectful, kind, faith-filled and service-oriented student-athletes.”

In that same spirit, the student body will gather for a Pep Rally to celebrate the Football State Championship as well as numerous achievements from a variety of Roadrunner sports teams.
