Riverside Police to Take Back Unwanted Prescription Drugs

The drug take-back event will take place from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Riverside Police Department.

Riverside, IL - The Riverside Police Department is collecting potentially dangerous, expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs in an attempt to prevent pill abuse and theft.

The drug take-back event will take place from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Riverside Police Department, 31 Riverside Road, according to a news release.

Liquids, needles or sharp objects will not be accepted. The take-back is free an anonymous, no questions asked.

Some methods for disposing of unused medicines, such as flushing them down the toilet or throwing them in the trash, pose potential safety and health hazards. Area residents are encouraged to bring unwanted drugs to this event instead.
