Nearly 1,800 people were reported to have attended the annual festival in Gordon Park on Saturday; $88,000 was raised for the Community Nurse Health Center.

The following is a press release from the Community Nurse Health Association:
The 4th Annual Rocktoberfest, held on Saturday, September 15, 2012 and presented by the Women’s Auxiliary of Community Nurse Health Center, broke record numbers on a magnificent evening in Gordon Park in La Grange.
“The night was just great,” said Rebecca Schiltz, co-chair of the event with Jill Reich, both La Grange residents. “The weather was perfect! More than 1,700 people came out to support Community Nurse, meet up with friends and neighbors and enjoy a fun night out of music, food and beer.”

Far-Sighted, a band of students from Lyons Township High School began the night, followed by The Bad Dads, a west suburban band that rocked classic covers. The popular Journey tribute band Infinity rocked the night to close out the 4th Annual Rocktoberfest. Local food vendors included La Cabanita with delicious tacos, burritos and nachos; DeVries served up amazing homemade brats (some said the best they have ever tasted!); guests sampled pizza and fried ravioli from Giron’s of Brookfield and the La Grange Police Department Snack Shack dished out pretzels and other tasty snacks.
The “Rock the Bags” Tournament, sponsored by Wintrust, was won by the team of Rob Lynch and Bob Donahoe of La Grange. They won ticket to next year’s Rocktoberfest and an entry into the American Cornhole Organizations World Doubles tournament Championship, January 9-12th in Tunica, MS.
