Teenage Boys Robbed at Gunpoint in La Grange

Two armed men with guns stole money and cell phones Jan. 29.

Two 16-year-old boys were robbed of money and cell phones Jan. 29 on Cossitt Avenue near Spring Avenue.

The boys were approached around 9:15 p.m. by two men with guns who demanded their belongings, according to La Grange police.

The boys handed over their property, and no one was hurt.

The men ran away eastbound on Cossitt Avenue, police reported. The boys ran three blocks west to Lyons Township High School and called the La Grange Police Department to report the crime.

One of the men is described as 18 to 20 years old, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet one inch tall, slim, wearing a baseball cap, a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark pants, police reported.

The other man is described as 18 to 20 years old, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall with a heavy build, dreadlocks and wearing a dark jacket.

Police will immediately increase patrols on residential streets.
