Western Springs Police Reports: Property Damage, Car Burglary, Theft

Western Springs Police Department provided crime and arrest information through Aug. 8.

Irene Martinez, 45 of the 7300 block of 39th Street in Lyons, was stopped Aug. 6 for speeding over the limit at 47th Street and Woodland Avenue. A records check confirmed Martinez was driving without a license.

Timothy Vlcek, 29 of the 0-100 block of Scotsdale Road in La Grange Park, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor retail theft after Mariano’s employees personnel saw him leaving the store without paying for five bottles of alcoholic liquor. The stolen items had a combined retail value of $235.27.

Someone reportedly entered an unlocked car that was parked on a residential driveway in the 400 block of Rose Avenue and stole a wallet containing personal identification documents from the center console. The burglary occurred sometime between 4 p.m. Aug. 1 and 8:15 a.m. Aug. 2.

Someone reportedly entered two unlocked cars that were parked on a residential driveway in the 4000 block of Garden Avenue. The cars' owner said the offender went through the center consoles and glove compartments of each vehicle but did not steal anything from either. The burglaries occurred sometime between 9 p.m. Aug. 1 and 8 a.m. Aug. 2.

Someone reportedly damaged a first-floor window frame and screen in the 4200 block of Lawn Avenue. The incident occurred between 5 p.m. July 28 and 9 a.m. Aug. 1.

Someone reportedly stole three ejector pumps that were stored at a residential construction site in the 6000 block of Flagg Creek. The theft occurred between the afternoon hours of Aug. 1 and the morning hours Aug. 3. The stolen items had a combined value of $900.
