Western Springs Police Reports: Resisting Police, DUI, Theft

Western Springs Police Department provided crime and arrest information through Feb. 8.

Western Springs, IL - Kathy A. Janicki, 48 of the 4800 block of Grand Avenue in Western Springs, was arrested Feb. 3 and charged with two criminal misdemeanor counts after police responded to a domestic disturbance that originally took place Jan. 29. Janicki reportedly violated an order of protection and resisted arrest attempts by an officer.

Dinovella, Jason D. Dinovella, 43 of the 9100 block of S. Pulaski Road in Oak Lawn, was arrested Feb. 3 and charged with drunken driving after police were called to check on the well-being of a driver asleep behind the wheel of a car at Harvey and Hillgrove avenues. Upon arrival, police saw Dinovella asleep in a car parked on the roadway with the engine running. While speaking with the Dinovella, the officer saw that he was under the influence of drugs. He was offered and attempted a series of field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI.

Jose E. Esparza, 50 of the 2700 block of S. Hamlin Avenue in Chicago, was stopped at 12:01 a.m. Feb. 4 for improper lane usage at Ogden and Harvey avenues. While speaking with Esparza, the officer noticed he had slurred speech and also smelled a strong alcohol on his breath. Esparza was offered and attempted a series of field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI.

Deborah A. Pinkos, 48 of the 5600 block of 6th Avenue in Countryside, was arrested Feb. 7 and issued local ordinance citations after police were called to Mariano’s, which alleged Pinkos tried to steal $131.57 worth of various merchandise. Pinkos also resisted a store manager before police arrived.

Someone reportedly damaged a detached residential garage window between Jan. 5 and Feb. 15 with an undetermined object in the 4300 block of Lawn Avenue.
