NORTH CHICAGO, IL — Fire officials found four dead dogs in the aftermath of a house fire Friday afternoon.
Authorities from the North Chicago Fire Department responded to the call of a structure fire at around 6:33 p.m. Friday in the 2020 block of Kristan Avenue. When they arrived, interim Fire Chief John Umek told Patch heavy smoke and fire were coming from the home.
Neighbors told firefighters that several dogs may be trapped in the blaze. After 20 minutes, the fire was put out, Umek said. While no injuries were reported, the four dogs were found dead inside.
