Irate Over a $25 Gift Card
A customer was given a verbal trespassing warning after arguing with the manager at a store in the 300 block of South Waukegan Road over a $25 gift card.
The customer told police he tried to buy a $25 gift card at about 2:53 p.m. Dec. 6, and the transaction was cancelled. However, he was worried the money will still be deducted from his account.
The manager gave the customer a print out showing the transaction was voided, but that didn’t satisfy the customer, who began yelling and threw the print out at the manager.
Police gave the customer another copy of the cancelled transaction and told him to follow up with his bank and the general manager if he thought he needed to.
The manager did not file a complaint.
