Detectives Search For Gunman Who Robbed Beach Park Convenience Store
The man entered the Green Bay Road store with a gun Saturday morning, authorities said.

BEACH PARK, IL — An armed robber struck a convenience store Saturday in Beach Park, authorities said.
Around 11:30 a.m., a man entered an unspecified store in the 37700 block of North Green Bay Road, pulled out a gun and demanded money from the clerk, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
A sheriff's office spokesperson said the gunman, who was described as possibly of Hispanic descent, wore a face covering, yellow coat, tan pants and gloves.

After grabbing cash from the register, the robber ran away from the store with an undisclosed amount of cash before officers arrived. The clerk was not injured during the robbery.
A K9 team from the sheriff's office called to the scene was able to track the man's scent south from the store, the sheriff's office spokesperson said, but the track ended at the dead end of a road, which suggested he probably got into a car there.
