Hit-And-Run DUI Driver Hospitalized For 'Severe Intoxication': Blotter
A drunken Chicago man with a suspended license crashed into another driver before he was taken into custody: Lake Forest Police Blotter

LAKE FOREST, IL — The information below comes from Lake Forest police and Lake County courts as a record of those arrested by police. ARRESTS/CITATIONS
An 18-year-old Highland Park man was charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol and child endangerment following a traffic stop at Green Bay and Vine roads around 4:30 a.m. on Feb. 7. Officers spotted him violate several traffic laws before pulling him over and noticing that he had two children inside the car and appeared to be intoxicated. He was also issued citations for driving an uninsured motor vehicle, improper lane usage and driving with an expired permit.
Carlos Garcia-Zuniga, 65, of the 3000 block of North Avers Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 11 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a breath alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater and driving with a suspended license after he crashed a Nissan into another car near the intersection of Route 60 and Academy Drive. Driving drunk without a license can be charged as a felony, but records indicate that prosecutors did not do so in this case.

Jose G. Pineda, 36, of the 500 block of Center Street, Elgin, was arrested around 1 p.m. on Feb. 23 on an active arrest warrant in connection with an allegation from Hoffman Estates police after he drove his Dodge truck off of the road near Route 41 and Gage Lane. Officers learned his license had been revoked in connection with a DUI case and charged him with driving while his license was revoked or suspended license.
A 23-year-old North Chicago man was arrested around 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 25 and charged with leaving the scene of a property damage crash and cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash in connection with a multi-car crash near the intersection of Waukegan and Everett roads. The driver was later arrested by Deerfield police, charged with DUI and taken to a local hospital due to "severe intoxication."

A 38-year-old Zion man was issued a local ordinance violation citation after officers determined he struck another person in the 900 block of Western Avenue prior to 6:45 p.m. on Feb. 29.
A 39-year-old Lake Forest woman was arrested around 10:30 p.m. on March 7 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after officers were dispatched to a report of a car violating traffic laws. They found her asleep behind the wheel near the intersection of Field Court and Route 60 and determined she was intoxicated.
